JAMMU, June 9: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has rescinded the amendments made to the Jammu and Kashmir Engineering (Gazetted Service) Recruitment Rules, 1978 through SRO-14 of 2016.
According to a notification issued by the Jal Shakti Department on June 7, 2026, the Lieutenant Governor has ordered that the amendments introduced vide the notification dated January 15, 2016, by the then PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Department, shall stand withdrawn ab initio.
The decision has been taken in exercise of the powers conferred under Article 309 of the Constitution of India and comes into effect through S.O. 160 issued by the Government.
