J&K Govt Notifies Chit Funds Rules 2026

JAMMU, Aug 13: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has notified the Jammu and Kashmir Chit Funds Rules, 2026, under Section 89 of the Chit Funds Act, 1982, in consultation with the Reserve Bank of India.

The new rules, notified by the Finance Department on August 10, 2026, will come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

The rules lay down provisions governing chit funds in the Union Territory and include definitions and procedures relating to authorised agents, forms and other matters under the Act.
