J&K finish runners-up in Junior National Thang-Ta C’ship

SRINAGAR, Oct 1: Jammu & Kashmir secured the Runner-Up Trophy in the 32nd Junior National Thang-Ta Championship 2026, which concluded at the Multipurpose Indoor Hall, Polo Ground, Srinagar. Manipur emerged the overall champion.

Organised by the J&K Thang-Ta Association in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council from September 27 to 30, the four-day championship witnessed participation from 26 States, with young athletes competing in various categories.

The J&K contingent put up an impressive performance, bagging 17 gold, eight silver and 13 bronze medals to finish second in the overall team standings. Manipur claimed the overall championship title. The closing ceremony and medal distribution marked the culmination of the championship, with winning teams and outstanding athletes felicitated for their performances.
