JAMMU, Jan 15: Jammu Kashmir cadre of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) today celebrated birthday of National president, Mayawati here at State headquarter office.
A large numbers of party workers and leaders came from all over Jammu province participated in the event. Gyan Chand Dogra, Chairman of Dr Ambedkar Convent School was the Chief Guest while SR Majotra, President of J&K BSP, presided over the function.
While addressing the gathering at headquarter office, Majotra highlighted the contribution and sacrifices of the party chief Mayawati for carrying out the mission of Baba Sahab Bhim Rao Ambedkar and Manyavar Kanshi Ram to fight for the upliftment of the down trodden communities of the society.
He further said that Kumari Mayawati had proved herself to be a leader of the Dalits and pressurized the Governments to obey the dictates of the constitution, enshrined for the betterment of the Dalits as well as poor.
He also requested the workers to work for the welfare and betterment of the poor instead of their own interests. The time has come when all the secular forces has to unite together to thwart the evil, designed by BJP and RSS policies to divide the country in the name of religion and caste.
Others speakers also highlighted the sacrifices of Kumari Mayawati and appealed the general masses to strengthen the hands of Mayawati, so that their problems would be redressed.
The school children welcomed the workers and dignitaries and staged a play on the life of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar. The prominents who were presented on the birthday celebration included Charanjit Bitta, Vice President J&K, Som Nath, Ex MLA and General Secretary, Jagdish Verma General Secretary, and Rajja Singh Cashier and others.
