SRINAGAR, Sept 1: J&K Bank today accorded a warm farewell to General Managers Rakesh Koul and Syed Rais Maqbool, who superannuated on Monday after rendering nearly 37 years of dedicated service to the institution.
MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee chaired the farewell function at the Bank’s Corporate Headquarters, which was attended by Executive Director Sudhir Gupta, Chief General Managers, General Managers, Deputy General Managers, and other senior officers of the Bank.
Speaking on the occasion, the MD & CEO said, “The retirement of senior leaders invariably entails a loss of accumulated experience, institutional memory, and professional wisdom. Both Rakesh Koul and Syed Rais Maqbool have contributed meaningfully to the Bank’s growth through their competence, integrity and commitment across the important responsibilities entrusted to them.”
Emphasizing the importance of leadership continuity, he added, “With a well-defined succession plan in place, the responsibility now rests with the emerging leadership to take up the mantle and build upon the legacy of the outgoing officers.” The MD & CEO wished both the retiring executives good health, happiness, and a fulfilling post-retirement life.
The attending officers also recalled their professional association with the retiring executives and acknowledged their contribution to the Bank’s growth and institutional development.
