JAMMU, Oct 17: Final of the Chhatra Shaheed Memorial Football Tournament organized by JJSF and sponsored by J&K Bank was played today at GGM Science College Football ground, here. The match was played between Shaheen FC and J&K Bank Football Academy and J&K Bank football Academy won by 4-3 via tie-breaker.
The match was inaugurated by Lal Singh, MLA and former Minister and Founder Chairman, Dogra Swabhimaan Sangathan by releasing balloons and pigeons, while Sudheer Gupta was the guest of honour on behalf of Chairman J&K Bank, while Dr JP Sharma, Director Research was the another guest of honour on behalf of Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-J.
The final of the Chhatra Shaheed Memorial Football Tournament was witnessed by a jam-packed gathering at the venue.
Meanwhile, speaking on the occasion, Pushvinder Singh, President JJSF and Chairman, Organising Committee thanked the administration of GGM Science College including Dr. Satinder Singh, Principal and Mahesh Sharma, Physical Director of the College.
JJSF presented mementoes of special thanks to Chairman, J&K Bank, Ravi Sharma, PRO to Chairman J&K Bank, Dr. Satinder Singh, Principal GGM Science College, Mahesh Sharma, Physical Director, GGM Science College, Jammu for their whole hearted support to JJSF in organizing the Chhatra Shaheed Memorial Football Tournament.
JJSF also honoured some dignitaries for their extra-ordinary services for the society of Duggar region. The persons who were honoured include Bhanu Pratap Singh for winning bronze medal in Wushu in Asian Games, Manish Singh Jamwal who is the youngest Turban expert, Sushil Kumar Sharma, Chairman Disable Welfare Association, Rajni Sharma, President, Jeevan Sandesh Trust, Rekha Rajput, President, Bharat Raksha Manch and President Swadeshi Manch, Dr. D N Mehta who was the part of the agitation during 1966, Satpal Kalsi, X-en PHE and veteran football player and Charan Dass, Retd. Divisional Engineer BSNL, Veteran football player.
The match was officiated by the referees namely Dheeraj Meenia as Centre Referee, Dil Bahadur and Rahul Sharma as Assistant Referees and Suresh Gupta as Fourth Referee.
Dogra Bhandara was served after the match to guests and all the spectators.
