JAMMU, Sept 1: A 27-member Jammu and Kashmir badminton contingent left to participate in the North Zone Inter-State Badminton Championships, scheduled to be held from September 2 to 6.
According to a handout issued by the Badminton Association of J&K, the squad was selected during the recently held All J&K Senior and Junior Ranking / Selection Tournament. The contingent comprises 23 players and four officials.
The boys' team includes Bhavya Sharma, Nalin Pandohi, Vipul Saini, Raghav Magotra, Puranjay Sharma, Harsh Mahajan, Aryan Gupta, Samaksh Samelia, Akul Mengi, Bhavdeep Singh, Gopesh Singh, Udayan Sharma, Shivansh Panotra and Kanhaiya Sudan.
The girls' team comprises Skiedeep Kaur, Krishika Mahajan, Suhani Sharma, Zinnia Abbas Ione, Gania Singh, Yashaswani Pandoh, Diamond Rajput, Bhavini Dalpatia and Keerat Choudhary.
Honorary General Secretary Raju Sharma said the delegation had departed after adequate preparations for the regional championship, which will bring together senior and junior badminton talent from across northern India.
