J&K Assembly's autumn session business to move online via NeVA portal

JAMMU, Sept 1: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has announced that the upcoming Autumn Session of the Legislatives Assembly, starting September 21, 2026, will be managed entirely through the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) portal.

The move is aimed at facilitating paperless proceedings and streamlining legislative operations across the Union Territory.

According to a circular issued by Achal Sethi, Commissioner Secretary to the Government, Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, all administrative departments must process, submit, and receive all official assembly work strictly through the electronic system.

This mandate covers Government bills, legislative proposals, amendments, replies to questions raised by MLAs, official assurances, notices, and references.

The circular further said that departmental log-in accounts have already been generated, and questions submitted by legislators have been routed to the relevant authorities.

The Government has directed administrative departments to log into their portals daily and ensure all uploaded documents are fully authentic, accurate, and aligned with official approved versions.

To facilitate a seamless transition and resolve potential technical glitches ahead of the session, each department is required to designate a dedicated Nodal Officer or NeVA Coordinator.

These officers will liaise directly with the Legislative Assembly Secretariat and technical support teams to prevent any delays in official legislative business.
