Jio strengthens network infrastructure across Amarnath Yatra routes

SRINAGAR, July 7: To ensure seamless 4G and 5G connectivity for the Shri Amarnath pilgrims during their pilgrimage, Jio boosts its network connectivity across both Amarnath Yatra routes for a safer pilgrimage.

Jio has enhanced its network infrastructure along both the traditional Pahalgam and the shorter Baltal routes.

By deploying a robust mix of additional mobile towers, temporary cell sites, high-capacity microwave backhaul links, fiber connectivity and dedicated power backup systems, Jio ensures high-speed data and crystal-clear voice services even in the most remote, high-altitude locations.

These strategic enhancements are engineered to maximize network availability and drastically reduce congestion during peak pilgrimage period.

The extensive deployment, carried out with the active cooperation of the concerned Government Departments and administration, focuses on delivering uninterrupted 4G and 5G services all the way up to the holy Amarnath Cave Shrine across both major tracks.

Advanced network sites have been strategically deployed at historically challenging, high-altitude choke points and transit camps, including Nunwan Base Camp, Chandanwari, Pissu-Top, Zojibal, Sheshnag, Mahagunas, Poshpathri and Panchtarni enroute Pahalgam Track .

Existing infrastructure has been heavily upgraded alongside the deployment of high-capacity portable cell sites, or COWs (Cell on Wheels) to handle intense data traffic spikes along the Baltal Track.

Continuous coverage is maintained across critical locations including Baltal Base Camp, Domail-Camp, Railpathri, Brarimarg, Sangam Top, Lower Holy Cave and the holy Amarnath Cave.

With this dedicated infrastructure upgrade, Jio continues its commitment to provide seamless connectivity to pilgrims allowing them to remain connected with their loved ones and enabling local authorities with reliable communication lines throughout this sacred journey.
