JAMMU, May 19: For testing any type of allergy at very nominal rates, Jerath Path Labs and Allergy Testing Centre would collect the blood samples in Jammu, Udhampur, Kathua, Rajouri, Akhnoor, Jourian, Khour and Katra on May 21 and 22.
According to Dr Jerath, any type of allergy can be prevented through early diagnose. An allergy refers to an exaggerate reaction by immune system in response to exposure to certain foreign substances, he stated.
He added that the allergy producing substances are called allergens and examples of allergens include pollens dust mites, molds, animal proteins, food and even medications. He said that the common symptoms of an allergic reaction to inhale or skin allergens include itchy watery eyes, sneezing, running nose, rashes feeling tired or ill, hives (a rash and raised red patches) and food allergies.
He maintained that tobacco smoke increases risk of allergies enormously.
