JAMMU, Feb 5: Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) of State Government employees has opposed the recently announced Medi-claim policy and making it compulsory for the Gazetted cadre.
In a meeting of the JCC held here today, senior members Abdul Qayoom Wani alleged that Government has not taken any employees’ representative into confidence before launching such policy for the employees. He termed this decision of the Government as `unilateral’ and alleged that even the rate of premium was much higher. Moreover, it was not in the larger interest of the employees. He said JCC is not against any such policy but it should be made employee-friendly and the employees must be taken into confidence before going for any such policy. There was urgent need to for its review, Mr Wani maintained.
