JAMMU, Dec 25: Thousands of devotees from in and outside the State thronged the holy Samadhi Sathal of renowned saint and social reformer, Shri Dewarika Nath Shastri Ji Maharaj at Sohanjana, to take part in series of programmes being organized on the auspicious occasion, here today.
Though the celebrations have already begun with soulful recitation of holy Shri Mad Bhagwat Saptah Katha by a well learned young preacher, Swami Shri Atul Krishan Ji at the holy Samadhi Sathal, the grand Rath Yatra procession was the major attraction of the Janamahotsav celebrations of Shri Shastri Ji Maharaj.
Hundreds of devotees took part in the Rath Yatra procession today, which began from the holy Samadhi Sathal under the supervision of Swami Shri Gangadhar Ji Maharaj, son and disciple of Shri Shastri Ji Maharaj.
After passing through 48 adjoining villages of Sohanjana, it culminated at the same venue (holy Samadhi Sathal).
This was followed by recitation of Shri Mad Bhagwat Saptah Katha by Swami Shri Atul Krishan Ji, where he continued to enchant the devotees with his thoughtful discourses, mainly centered on the relation between the God Almighty and His devotee.
In a reference to Lord Krishna, Swami Shri Atul Krishan Ji threw light on the different aspects of his life and actions, which he said, always remain all-new even after passing of over 5000 years.
Renowned Sufi singers including Master Saleem and Party mesmerized the devotees with their soulful performance throughout the night.
There was also a regular Havana ceremony, which is being performed everyday by learned Pandits and scholars during the Janamahotsav celebrations.
