Srinagar, Oct 4: After 30 years of gap, National Anthem was sung with all respect and glory in Baramulla town of North Kashmir.
Baramulla remained the hub of terrorism in Kashmir and even today terrorists movement is frequently seen in the area but the BJP MLA Ravinder Raina paid tribute to the great martyr Mohammad Maqbool Shervani, the saviour of Baramulla. In 1947, when Pakistani troops attacked Kashmir and Indian security forces were not present there.
Maqbool Shervani was the one who alongwith his colleagues challenged the Pakistani invaders with all mighty power and didn’t allowed them to pass Baramulla to reach Srinagar otherwise Pakistani forces could have captured the Srinagar, the Summer Capital of Jammu and Kashmir Later on Maqbool Shervani attained the martyrdom in Baramulla.
Ravinder Raina is the first BJP lagislator who paid tribute to Shaheed Maqbool Shervani. Raina alongwith the local BJP Workers paid floral tribute to the Samadhi spot of the martyr and sung the National Anthem in Baramulla town and also waved National Flag during the function.
It took about 30 years to organise a function in open where Jan Gan Man Adiynak…… was sung by a large number of local public and raised the slogans like “”Bharat Mata Ki -Jai”” and
“Azad Hindostan- Zindabad Zindabad “. Addressing the workers, Raina recalled the supreme sacrifice made by Shaheed Maqbool Shervani and his colleagues. He said it was the supreme sacrifice of Shervani that saved Baramulla and Srinagar from Pakistan in 1947. Raina urged the Kashmir youth to adopt the path of Maqbool Shervani so that peace and prosperity may be achieved and nationalism can more strengthen. He assured the locals that BJP will do the justice with all the nationalist people living in Jammu and Kashmir and can never allow anybody to pursue the Pakistani agenda in Kashmir.
He asked the misguided Kashmiri youth to shun the path of Sallaudeen and adopt the path of Maqbool Shervani to attain peace and prosperity in Kashmir.
