Jammu’s rapper kid gets a break in Bollywood film

JAMMU, Feb 4:  The 19 years old Iqbal Singh is Jammu’s rapper kid on the block.  In recognition to his immense talent, he has got a break to sing a rap song for latest Bollywood film, Daag, the Spot.
The break in ‘Daag, the Spot’, in which Iqbal is touted as a surprise, has not only given opportunity to Iqbal Singh to made his debut as singer in Bollywood film industry  but also opened doors for him. He has also been signed as a singer for another film.
A per the director of the film Rajat Goswami, since the film Daag, is based on a sensitive issue of Leprosy has heart touching sad song. It also features a light Punjabi number which has Rap by Iqbal Singh which has emerged as favorite of entire film crew.
According to Delhi based producer of the film, Hemant Choudhary, Iqbal’s talent has been recognized by some of the music veterans in the Bollywood and music labels. It is the reason that they have also signed Iqbal for their next venture which is a Youth-Comedy and going on floor this year.
Born in 1995, he is son of Kamaljeet Kaur and Kavinain Singh, who works in Women Polytechnic. Iqbal had his schooling from Model Institute of Education and has been attracted to rap from quite some times.
Talking about his passion, he said that Rap Music is the art of creating rhyming speeches in the form of chant. This chant is accompanied by high tempo electronic music. This rhyming chant is known as rapping and anyone who does rapping is known as a rapper.
A self-taught musician, Iqbal has already given public performances like when during a program by well known singer Preet Harpal at Jammu Club on  December 31, 2013, he also got an opportunity to sing on that occasion. Iqbal says that he is lucky to have support of his entire family to peruse his passion.
