Jammu Sports Club defeats Malai Youngstars by 8 wickets

DODA, Feb 4: Jammu Sports Club clinched a comfortable victory against Malai Youngstars by 8 wickets in the Thalela Super League Edition 2024-25, organized by the Indian Army at the Army Ground Thalela, here today.
This event was part of the Army’s Civic Action Programme, designed to promote sportsmanship and strengthen community bonds among local youth in Doda.
Winning the toss, Malai Youngstars opted to bat first but were restricted to just 104/9 in 15 overs due to tight bowling from Jammu Sports Club. Imran Sheikh was the standout batter for Malai Youngstars, scoring 51 runs, while Rubani added 11 runs. Jammu Sports Club’s bowlers, including Mohit Bali, Sohaib Naik, Mohd Asif, Raman Sharma, Ahatsham Malik and Harshit Singh, took wickets at regular intervals.
In reply, Jammu Sports Club comfortably chased down the target in 11.2 overs, losing only 2 wickets. Rohit played a brilliant knock of 45*, Ahatsham Malik contributed 31* and Rahul added 18 runs to seal the win. Malai Youngstars’ bowlers failed to make any significant breakthroughs, and both wickets fell due to run-outs. Vikram Singh Bhadwal, General Secretary of Lok Janshakti Party J&K, congratulated Jammu Sports Club for their outstanding performance.
