JAMMU, Sept 26: A delegation of College Teachers Association, led by its president Dr Avinash Kumar Gupta, participated in a protest dharna organized by the All India Federation of University & College Teachers Organizations (AIFUCTO) in New Delhi against UGC & MHRD policies on amendment to UGC regulations 2010 for Career Advancement Scheme.
College and University Teachers from all over the country took part in the dharna against amended UGC Regulations 2013 and in support of the demand for feasible Academic Performance Indicators (API’s) in recruitment & Career Advancement Scheme (CAS).
The teachers also demanded removal of anomalies in UGC regulations, an assured Pension Scheme, expansion of Public funded education & democratic governance of education.
Representing all the teachers in Higher Educational set up in J&K, Dr Avinash Kumar Gupta, also attended the national executive body meeting of AIFUCTO wherein he highlighted the non-implementation of UGC regulations in toto in J&K, disparity in superannuation age of College and University Teachers and enhancement in retirement age as per UGC regulations.
The other delegation members of College Teachers Association, who participated in these events, included Dr Vijay Sharma, Prof R S Jamwal, Dr B K Gandhotra, Dr Neeraj Gupta, Prof Ram Singh, Dr Ranvijay Singh, Prof Rajkumar Gupta and Prof Jagdish Kumar.
