JAMMU, Aug 8: In order to save the Government land from the clutches of land mafia, the Deputy Commissioner Jammu Sushma Chauhan has cancelled illegal entries of 7189 kanals and six marlas of land recorded in the name of encroachers in different villages of various tehsils of Jammu district.
Vide Order No.DCJ/SQ/illegal entries-SL/2020-21/793-07 dated August 7, 2020, illegal entries on State land in various villages of tehsil Khour involving 2327 kanals and six marlas have been cancelled.
Similarly, illegal entries over 768 kanals and 12 marlas of State land in various villages of Jammu North tehsil, over 149 kanals and one marla in Chowki Choura tehsil, over 3856 kanals and seven marlas in various villages of Nagrota tehsil and illegal entries on State land measuring 88 kanals in village Deora of Pargwal tehsil have been cancelled.
“The process of cancellation of illegal revenue entries/mutations over the Government land will cover all the remaining tehsils of Jammu district in the days to come so as to tighten noose around the encroachers”, the Deputy Commissioner said.
