Jai Hind Tennis C’ship gets underway

JAMMU, May 15: Jai Hind Tennis Championship, organized by Director Jai Hind Sports Deepak Singh, got underway at Jammu Police Line, here today.
A total of 70 players from J&K, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Delhi are taking part in this championship, wherein ADGP Jammu, Mukesh Singh was the chief guest of today’s event.
In under-18, Shubmanyu emerged as winner, while Hardeep Sudan remained runner up, while in open category singles, the winner was Deepak Singh, while Aman Pandoh stood runner up and in open doubles, the winner of category was Kailash Godara / Chakshu Mahajan, while runner up pair was Mukesh Kumar Singh/ Deepak Singh (J&K).
In the veteran single, Vikram Gupta remained winner and Mukesh Kumar Singh stood runner up.
Jai Hind Sports Director Deepak Singh said that it was the 6th season of the Championship, which aims to encourage and promote new sporting talents.
Chief guest, Mukesh Singh (ADGP Jammu) said that the tournament, being organized by Jai Hind Sports will prove to be a good platform to keep youth away from drugs.
