JAC of Reserved Categories flays Govt for poor response

JAMMU, June 2:  The Joint Action Committee of All Reserved Categories Socio-Religious Organisations and Retired Employees Forum has strongly criticized the State Government for its luke warm response in defending their position on the issue of reservation in promotions in the High Court.
In a meeting of various organisations of  SC, ST and OBCs held here today, the speakers condemned the Government for showing poor response with the regard to the issue of reservation in promotions for the category employees.  They pointed out that  the Government apparently guided by some bureaucrats has not defended the case and filed review petition in the High Court  and  SLP in the apex court.
The speakers including F C Bhagat- president All J&K Kabir Sabha, B R Bhagat -vice president  All India Bhagat Mahasabha, Sham Lal Bassan- president  Dalit Chetna Manch, Prof Kali Dass and Abdul Majid Malik from All India Backward Classes Union and  Dhayan Chand Ex-MLA while addressing the gathering demanded that Government should clear its stand and come clean over the issue. Several other members from other organizations  representing community were also present on the occasion.
They further demanded that Government should support the cause of  SCs, STs and OBCs in the State and do justice with them. They sought the intervention of Chief Minister in this matter.
