Irani wrestler lifts 17th Mission Dosti Dangal title

Katra, Oct 4: Hadi of Iran played a quite entertaining bout against his opponent and Arjuna Awardee International wrestler, Satyawart Kadian of Rohtak to win the title bout at SMVDSB Sports Stadium, here today.
The title winner Hadi was presented Rs 1.50 lakh along with Traditional “Gurj (Gadda) and patta”, while runner- up Satyawart got Rs one lakh.
For the second main bout held for Rs 1.50 lakh, Ahmed Mirza of Iran gave a tough fight to his opponent from Haryana Parvesh. In another bout for Rs 1.25 lakh, Tedo of Georgia defeated Ravi Vehera of Haryana.
In the women bout, wrestler Divya Kakran (UP)-a Common Wealth Bronze medallist beat International wrestler Bhateri from Haryana, an Asian Championship bronze medallist and Junior World Silver medallist 2021 and were awarded with a cash prize of Rs 40000 and Rs 30000 respectively.
Member Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma was the chief guest, while former Minister Pawan Gupta, former Minister Ajay Nanda, former MLA Baldev Raj and RS Pathania, JC Sarkar, General Manager, Salal Power Station, NHPC Ltd. Jyotipuram Additional, CEO SMVDSB Navneet Singh and Pujari Naresh Kumar were the guests of honour.
The event was sponsored by J&K Sports Council, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Department of Tourism,, NHPC Ltd. Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Shiv Khori Shrine Board, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force.
The wrestling was organized by Katra Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of Shiv Kumar Sharma, president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, wherein 23 bouts were played and 4th bout was won by Ishaq (Lallu) of J&K Police by defeating Akash of Delhi.
Prominent persons including Deputy CEO SMVDSB Chander Parkash, DDC Chairman Reasi Saraf Singh Nag, Reasi District BJP President Sheel Magotra and many others were present during the event.
