IPTA organizes poetic symposium to celebrate foundation day

JAMMU, May 25: Indian People’s Theatre Association (IPTA) J&K celebrated its foundation day today by organizing a multilingual poetic symposium in KL Saigal auditorium of Academy of Art Culture and Languages.
During the symposium, 15 poets of different languages recited their poems. TR Shastri (general secretary, Progressive Writers’ Association, Jammu) was the chief guest on the occasion and Arvinder Singh Amn was the guest of honour.
Baljit Singh Raina (president, Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Jammu), Harjit Singh Uppal (president, Punjabi Sahitik Sabha, RS Pura) were among other dignitaries who shared the stage.
Dr Liqat Jaffari, eminent Urdu poet conducted the proceedings of the Poetic Symposium where as Hardeep Singh Deep welcomed the dignitaries, poets and guests. He also delineated the efforts of IPTA where as Swami Antar Nirav presented the formal vote of thanks.
JPS Azad, Balvinder Deep, Bhagwati Dewi, Kamaljit Choudhary, Kumar Krishan Sharma, Sudhir Mahajan, Deepak Aarsi, Dr Gurpreet Kaur, Amanpreet Kaur and Promila Minhas were among the poets who presented their compositions on the occasion.
Besides the executive body of IPTA, GS Charak (president, Kissan Sabha), Ashwani Kapoor and Sukhdev Singh were also present on the occasion.
