Interests of border people taken care of during talks with neighbouring countries: Gowda

LEH (LADAKH), June 7: Union Minister of Law, Sadanand Gowda today said that the interests of people living on borders will be taken into consideration during the talks with neighboring countries including China and Pakistan.
Talking to reporters here, today along with Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Nihal Chand, MP from Ladakh and senior BJP leader, Thupstan Chhewang , CEC LAHDC, Dr Sonam Dawa and BJP State general secretary (Org) Ashok Kaul , he said the talks with China and other neighbouring countries will only be held when situation is conducive on borders for the same. “We can’t hold talks with any country unless the relation is better with that nation.”, he added.
He said with the taking over of reigns of Government by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Centre two years back, India’s relations have improved with neighboring countries like China, Pakistan and Bangladesh” .
Assuring full security and safety to border people the Minister said when Government holds talks with neighbouring countries the welfare of the people living along the borders will be taken into consideration.
On the demand of discrimination meted out to Ladakh in the announcement of smart cities by Union Government recently when claims are being made that all the three regions of the State will be given equal treatment, Mr Gowda said that it is on the agenda of the Union Government and in case the Leh fulfills all the parameters required for the smart city the announcement in this regard will made be in the next list of smart cities.
He announced construction of 3000 kilometre road along the border to develop the road networking in Ladakh region.
Talking about the connectivity problem in Ladakh region, the Union Minister assured that the issue will be addressed within six months by providing an alternate Optical Fiber Connectivity (OFC) service.
The Minister, who is on the tour of Ladakh region on the completion of completion of two years of Modi Government which is being observed as Vikas Parve all over the country, said that Prime Minister has made every one to feel proud of about their nation.
Giving brief description on the developmental activities undertaken by Modi Government in past two years, Mr Gowda said that under the leadership of Mr Modi today India is most respected country in the world and he has made every Indian feel proud of their nation with its growing economy. It is a special effort on part of Mr Modi with an intention to reach out to the people of India and a request for suggestions from citizens and specially from media to ensure effective functioning of the Government.
Mr Gowda made a mention of fast growing Indian GDP at 79 percent ensuring corruption free Government, financial discipline and financial inclusion through direct benefit transfer scheme under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna with opening of 21.5 crore accounts. Nearly two crore youth were benefited under skill development scheme and Rs 1.37 lakh crores were distributed to youth under Mudra Bank Yojna across the country, he added.
The Union Minister said devolution of fund increased by 10 percent to states, formation of SIT with stringent legislation, Atal Pension Yojna, women empowerment through Beti Bachao and Suraksha Nari Yojna, one crore household  below poverty line has been provided with free LPG connections and Cooperative Federation is the concept of development taken by ruling government to ensure equal development in every part of the country.
