JAMMU, May 29: The Interschool Open Taekwondo Championship organized by J&K Sports Taekwondo Association in collaboration with International Daily Rising School, Chowadhi (Jammu) concluded, here today.
More than 250 players from 16 schools from four different districts of Jammu province participated in the Championship, which was conducted under the supervision of Ronika Rathore. The students who won the gold medal will be selected for the upcoming National Championship at Manali, Himachal Pradesh.
Kavinder Gupta (former Deputy Chief Minister) was the chief guest of the closing ceremony and Colonel Sukhvir Mankotia was the guest of honour while Major CL Gupta and Amit Sharma (Secretary, BJP District Jammu South) were the special guests.
Anil Nada (Chief Technical Director and Hall of Fame awardee) and Dr Atul (Director Principal, International Daily Rising School) along with association banners were present on the occasion.
The coaches and referee panel was Suzen Nanda (National Referee), Vansh Tagotra, Gunjan Kumari Bhardwaj, Ashutosh Khajuria, Sham Lal Bali, Shaista Maryam and Kanchan Gurung.
In Individual Poomase Tul (Senior Boys), Shiraj Hansa won gold, Atharv Rathore silver and Vipul Manas bronze in Group A and Shivank Hansa bagged gold Vansh Tagotra silver and Varodaan Singh bronze while in Seniors Girls’ category, Shaista Maryam secured gold, Gunjan Bhardwaj silver and Navya bronze. In Junior Boys’ category, Mohammad Nawab Altamash won gold, Jasraj Singh silver and Vihaan Dhanak bronze.
In Takewondo fights (Junior Boys, 20-22 weight category), Dakash Choudhary got gold, Mohd Nawab Altamash silver and Vansh Suri silver in Group A while in Group B, Ranveer Singh won gold, Rishab silver and Sahibjyot Singh bronze. In Sub Juniors Boys (28-30), Naman Gupta bagged gold, Arnav Manhas silver and Ansh Suri bronze in Group A while Satnam Mahali secured gold, Ritvik Sharma silver and Krishana bronze in Group B.
In Juniors Boys (24-26), Shivansh Saini won gold, Vihaan Dhanak silver and Kuvam bronze in Group A while in Juniors Boys (30-32), Shiraj Hansa bagged gold, Rajdeep Singh silver and Mankirat Singh silver. In Sub Junior Boys (32-34), Ansh Chanda got gold, Lavanya Prashar silver and Laksh Goswami bronze in Group B.
In Senior Boys (34-36), Pragun Sharma bagged gold, Vardaan Singh silver while in Senior Boys (36-38), Divyansh won gold, Nikunj Mehla silver and Retinder bronze. In Senior Boys (38-40), Shivank Hansa secured gold, Adhiraj Singh Salathia silver and Gandhrav Mehra bronze while in Senior Boys (40-42), Vansh Tagotra got gold and Ashutosh Khajuria silver.
In Girls Sub-Junior (40-42), Mahika Sharma got gold, Saanvi Mehra silver and Aradhya Jagdev Thakur bronze while in Girls Sub-Junior (42-44), Kuvam Sharma bagged gold, Navya silver and Garima Sharma bronze. In Girls Junior (30-32), Shavi Mandla won gold and Deeva Nag (Reasi) silver while in Girls Junior (44-46), Anika secured gold, Yuvika silver and Nahira Fatima bronze.
In Sub-Juniors Boys (13-16), Riyaan Bhardwaj won gold, Mahabir (MMI) silver and Neel Bajaj (Jodhamal) bronze in Group A while in Group B, Sabhin Singh (MMI) got gold, Shivoy Langer (MMI) silver and Rajbir Singh Dua (MMI) bronze. In Sub-Junior Boys (16-18), Jaskamal Singh (Heritage) bagged gold, Harnoor Singh (JIDRS) silver and Vaibhav Agarwal (JIDRS) bronze in Group A while Bhagyansh Bhar got gold, Rakshit Gurung silver and Arshit Gupta bronze in Group B.
In Sub-Junior Boys (18-20), Aadishwar Jagdev Singh bagged gold, Avyaan Gupta silver and Azlan Chouhan bronze in Group A while Aviraj Jain got gold, Fayez Iqbal (MMI) silver and Aviraj Singh (IDRS) bronze in Group B. In Sub-Junior Girls (13-16), Aavika Sharma won gold, Kreesha Sharma silver and Kiyara Verma bronze in Group A while Shanin Arya (MMI) won gold, Saina Sharma (MMI) silver and Ruhanika bronze.
In Sub-Junior Girls (16-18), Sara Gurung secured gold, Baani Singh silver and Kashvi Sharma bronze in Group A while in Group B, Sharanya Mahajan bagged gold, Rudrakshi Fangotra silver and Anaaya Thappa bronze.
