Excelsior Sports Correspondent UDHAMPUR, Sept 21: An Inter-College symposium was organized in the Government College for Women, Udhampur on the occasion of Hindi Diwas celebration, here today. Balwant Singh Mankotia, MLA Udhampur was the chief guest on the occasion while Prakash Premi and Prof. Shiv Nirmohi were the guests of honour. The programme started with the lightening of lamp by the Dr Youdhvir Singh, Principal, Govt College for Women, Udhampur, which was followed by his speech on the importance of Hindi Diwas. The chief guest Balwant Singh Mankotia encouraged the students to speak Hindi in their day to day conversation. The participants included Kajal from Govt Degree College, Ramnagar, Sonali from Govt PG College, Udhampur, Mirmala and Neha Rajput from Govt College for Women, Udhampur. Dr B B Sharma, Associate Professor, Department of Sanskrit Govt College for Women, Udhampur spoke about the initiatives taken by Jammu Kashmir Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Smiti to emphasize the importance of National Language.
