SHOPIAN: As part of our constant endeavour to create awareness on Indian Army amongst the young impressionable minds of the area, a Confidence Building Tour of students from various schools of Watchi was organised to JAK LI Regimental Centre on 21 November 20 . A total of 28 students and two teachers attended the tour.
The tour was aimed at giving the young students an exposure on life in the armed forces and motivate them to join Indian Army. As part of the tour, the students were familiarized with the training curriculum in the centre and also witnessed the PT Display. They were also taken on a guided tour to various facilities within the Centre and were briefed in detail on each of them. The students were shown a movie on Life in the Indian Army.
The students also visited Regiment Museum, Hall of Fame and the War Memorial highlighting the valour and sacrifices of the brave soldiers of the JAK Li Regiment in service of the nation. The students also had an opportunity to carryout a detailed interaction with Commandant JAK Li Regimental Centre.
Tea and refreshments were org for the students and they finished the tour with a sumptuous lunch post the visit.
The tour has surely created a positive impact in the minds of the young students and will surely help in bringing them close to Indian Army. The students and teachers appreciated the efforts of the unit in organising the visit and were unanimous in requesting that such visits should be planned more frequently.
