Sir,
It is just to invite wrath of those who are on the verge of retirement when speaking contrary to the proposal to increase retirement age by 1 or 2 years to meet aspirations of the employees (DE Feb 15). The proposal is quite disturbing especially for those educated unemployed youths who are even ready to serve on meagre salaries for their livelihood. How logically ill-considered it is to increase retirement age when with superannuation of an employee, 5-6 unemployed can be employed in the existing pay structure.
Moreover , when in 50s itself, one starts yawning and fails to perform duties actively, extension of service beyond 58 can’t be logically justified.
Therefore, when thousands and thousands unemployeds are facing acute frustration and disappointment in the era of unemployment and consequent financial hardships, meeting aspirations of all those already drawing fat salaries is not justified.
Yours etc….
