KATHUA, June 25: In order to control illegal activities and offenses under the Essential Commodities Act as well as to prevent black marketing in the Kathua district yesterday, Police team of Police Station (PS) Billawar headed by PSI, Aaqib Yousaf under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua RC Kotwal & SDPO Billawar, Arvind Kumar during naka checking near Naaj bridge at Billawar stopped one Mahindra load carrier bearing Registration Number JK08K-7389, which was coming from Phinter towards Billawar.
During questioning the driver the vehicle disclosed his name as Suram Singh, son of Puttu Ram, of Thamnal, Billawar and recovered 50 bags of rice marked as FCI Stamp on bags without any permission.
In this regard FIR No. 98/2021 U/S 409 IPC, 3/7 Essential Commodities Act has been registered at PS Billawar and investigation taken up.
