JAMMU, Aug 21: Iknoor Kour lifted double crown in Junior Girls event of 2nd Stag Jammu Open Table Tennis Championship, being organized in Stag Jammu Table Tennis Academy, Nanak Nagar here, under the direction of JKTTA.
Dr Dharminder Magotra (former State player) today visited the academy along with other senior players like Sanjay Mahajan and watched the Junior Boy’s final match which was played between Ritvik and Ketan in which Ritvik over powered Ketan in a one sided match.
Dr Magotra also participated in the Men’s Doubles pairing with IP Singh and won the Men’s Double Championship by defeating Asad and Anuj in a well fought match.
Result: In semi-finals of Junior Boys upto 17 Years, Ritvik beat Arnav by 11-9, 11-8 and 11-9 while Ketan defeated Saksham by 11-2, 11-8 and 11-7.
In finals of Junior Girls upto 17 years, Iknoor Kour thrashed Ashmit Kour by 7-11, 11-8 and 11-8. Earlier, in semi-finals of Junior Girls upto 17 years, Ashmit Kour beat Hargun by 11-7 and 11-9 whereas Iknoor Kour trounced Archita by 6-11, 11-6 and 11-5.
In final of Sub Junior Boys, Manaya defeated Akhilesh by 11-7, 8-11, 11-8, 9-11 and 11-6 while in final of Sub Junior Girls, Hargun beat Iknoor by 11-7, 7-11 and 11-6.
In Men’s Single Quarter finals, Sandeep Khadotra downplayed Ketan by 11-7, 11-6 and 11-5, Asad thrashed Ankit by 11-8, 11-8, 6-11 and 11-8, Ritvik beat Gurvinder by 11-5, 11-7 and 11-6, and Manandeep trounced Vishal by 11-9, 11-8 and 11-5.
In semi-finals of Men’s Single, Sandeep beat Asad by 11-8, 11-9, 9-11, 9-11 and 11-9 while Manandeep defeated Ritvik Gupta by 11-8, 9-11, 11-9, 8-11 and 11-9.
In semi-finals of Men’s Doubles, Dr Dharminder Magotra and IP Singh thrashed Shaurya and Vishal by 11-7, 11-8, 21-23 and 11-6 while Asad and Anuj beat Sandeep and Gurvinder Singh by 11-7, 8-11, 9-11, 11-7 and 12-10.
Tomorrow, the Men’s Singles and Cadet Single Boys’ final matches will be played at 5 pm.
