JAMMU, Aug 3: Mohammad Sulaiman Salaria Inspector General of Police, Railways, J&K conducted security review meeting at Railway Station Jammu.
Shiv Kumar Sharma, SSP Railways, Jammu, Roop Raj Bhagat Commandant IRP 17th Bn, Major Sandeep Joshi, V.K. Dutta Dy. C.O. BSF, all SDPOs of GRP Jammu / Katra, , other NGOs of GRP and RPF officers attended the meeting.
It was emphasized upon each to remain extra vigilant, careful and maintain close co-operation with each other so that Independence Day celebrations pass incident free and peacefully. All the participants were also directed to ensure safety and security of Railway passengers, trains, vital installations and chalk out the proper security plan in consultation with PMFs, Distt. Police, Railway Authorities, RPF etc.
Moreover, all the participants were reiterated that in view of the constant flow of intelligence inputs from sister agencies from time to time and border tension there is need to remain extra vigilant and alert in their respective jurisdictions.
SSP GRP Jammu/SDPO GRP Katra were directed to strengthen the access control system at Railway Station Jammu/Katra including other stations by utilizing proper services of electronic gadgets viz X-ray baggage scanners, HHMD’s, DFMD’s to thwart any attempt of Anti Social / Anti National Elements.
SSP GRP Jammu/SDPO GRP Udhampur were also briefed that in view of increasing of trains / passengers at Railway Stations, the increase in crime rate of GRP Katra / Jammu cannot be ruled out. They were directed to take all precautionary / preventive measures in their respective jurisdictions to thwart the ill designs of ANE/ASEs.
Necessary directions were given to the officers to develop close and cordial relations amongst various agencies involved in the security of the Railway track, Railway stations and railway property.
