JAMMU, Sept 16: Postgraduate Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics today organized guest lectures in the auditorium of IGGDC Jammu by renowned speakers and pioneers in their respective fields, under the guidance of Dr Rakesh Gupta (Principal and Dean, IGGDC Jammu).
Dr Sourabh Gupta (Dean Examination, AIIMS Jammu), who is a well known root canal specialist gave a detailed presentation on recent advances in the diagnostic field related to endodontics and gave tips to young faculty and postgraduates.
Dr Sai Kalyan Director, Research Prevest Denpro Limited, spoke about recent trends in material aspect of therapies crucial for saving young permanent teeth.
This faculty development program was conceived by Dr Prof Azhar Malik (HoD, Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics) and was attended by senior faculty, postgraduates and undergraduate students of the Institute.
The event also carried 2 CDE points by J&K SDC in which Dr Bhupender Singh (president JKSDC as observer) and Dr Ritesh Gupta (Registrar JKSDC) were also invited. Dr Rachna Dhani (Assistant Professor) gave welcome address and Dr Rudra Kaul (Lecturer) introduced the speakers.
Prof (Dr) Parveen Akhtar Lone (Prof and HoD, Postgraduate Department of Oral Surgery) and Dr Prof Azhar Malik (HoD, Conservative Dentistry) chaired the respective sessions. The presentations were followed by healthy discussions.
Dr Ajay Gupta (Associate Prof) presented vote of thanks. Dr Shamim Anjum, Dr Ravinder Kumar, Dr Sachin Chadgal, Dr Tania, Dr Saksham, Dr Sangeeta, Dr Sadiya, Dr Insha, Dr Jerin, Dr Saniya and other staff of the Department of Conservative Dentistry worked in their various capacities towards the success of the event.
