ICAI J&K Branch organizes webinar on MSME Dev Act, its benefits

JAMMU, June 27: The Jammu & Kashmir Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) organized a live webinar today on the Micro Small & Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006 and its benefits on the occasion of International MSME Day.
The chief guest at the webinar, Anoo Malhotra (Director, Industries & Commerce Department, J&K Government) outlined the sincerity of the Government in making J&K an industrially advanced region. She mentioned various steps taken for the ease of doing business in J&K and explained the finer points of the MSME Development Act, 2006 including various incentives and benefits offered under the Act.
The guest of honour, Lalit Mahajan (president of Bari Brahmana Industries Association0 also raised various relevant issues of the Industry. CA Hans Raj Chugh, central council member of ICAI and chief coordinator of the webinar also shared his views on the occasion.
CA Vinay Jamwal, chairman of the J&K Branch of ICAI announced that the Institute has recently constituted a committee on MSME and Start-up to increase awareness of the schemes announced by Central and State Governments including benefits announced by various other Government Institutions including the Reserve Bank of India which has issued directions to the banks on issues like Priority Lending, Credit Linked Guarantee Schemes, Lesser Rate of Interest, Greater Availability and Access to Credit to MSME.
K Keshvan Iyanger, AGM SIDBI and CA Vikram Anand, Senior Manager (MSME Division), Punjab National Bank were the expert speakers on the topic. They deliberated on the subject in detail and ably answered the queries received from the live audience.
A large number of Chartered Accountants and members of the Industry participated in the webinar. CA Samriti Kohli, member of the managing committee of the J&K branch conducted the proceedings of the webinar while vote of thanks was presented by CA Jatin Malhotra.
