UDHAMPUR, Dec 22: Inter-Block District Level (IBDL) YSS Cup competitions, organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYS&S), got underway in various disciplines including Volleyball, Kabaddi and Kho-Kho at Subash Stadium, here today.
The competitions are being organized under the patronage of Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary YS&S J&K and overall supervision of Gazanfar Ali, Director YS&S. The event is being organised under the supervision of DYSSO Udhampur, Swaran Singh.
The competitions are scheduled on a pool basis at Block headquarters. Ajeet Singh, In-charge ZPEO welcomed the chief guest, BDC Member Balwan Singh. The chief guest interacted with players and encouraged the students to participate in the games.
Around 129 players participated from different blocks of Udhampur.
In Volleyball (men), Udhampur block defeated Tikri by 2-1 sets, while Tikri got better of Jaganoo by 2-1 sets, while in women category, Tikri beat Jaganoo by 2-1 and Tikri trounced Udhampur by 2-1.
In Kabaddi (men), Udhampur defeated Jaganoo by 15-11, while Udhampur also trounced Tikri by 11-10 points, in women category, Udhampur defeated Jaganoo by 24-4 points, besides in Kho-Kho women category, Udhampur got better of Tikri by inning and five points.
