JAMMU, Nov 27: HDFC Bank has been awarded for technical innovation by Indian Bank Association during its annual banking conference BANCON, held recently.
For the first time, IBA introduced the “Innovation Awards” and awarded the three best innovations by banks during the calendar year.
These awards recognise and award those leaders in the banking industry who had made great strides in innovation to stay ahead of their peers.
HDFC Bank was declared winner in the category ‘Most Innovative use of Technology.’ Aditya Puri, MD, HDFC Bank received the award on behalf of the bank from the chief guest P Chidambaram, Union Minister of Finance at a special function held in Mumbai.
The 6 winners were announced from a total of 88 nominations across 33 banks (20 PSU, 10 private and 3 Cooperative).
HDFC Bank was awarded in the category of `Most Innovative use of Technology’.
Usha Thorat, former Deputy Governor, RBI & Director, CAFRAL chaired the Jury that included M V Nair, former Chairman & MD, Union Bank of India, M D Mallya, former Chairman & MD, Bank of Baroda, Kalpana Morparia, Chief Executive, J P Morgan, Arun Duggal, Chairman, Shriram Capital and N R Narayana Murthy, Executive Chairman, Infosys Ltd.
