IAF airlifts 523 stranded passengers to Kargil, Leh

JAMMU: The three sorties of Indian Air Force on Thursday airlifted as many as 523 stranded passengers from Jammu and Srinagar to Kargil and Leh, an official here said.

State Coordinator, Kargil Courier Service Aamir Ali, informed that another batch of 523 stranded passengers were airlifted to Kargil and Leh districts of frontier Ladakh division from Jammu and Srinagar by Indian Air Force.

He said, ”305 passengers were airlifted from Srinagar to Leh in IL-76 aircraft, 22 passengers from Kargil to Srinagar, five passengers from Kargil to Jammu and 191 passengers from Jammu to Kargil in three sorties of AN-32 Kargil Courier.” (AGENCIES)
