Housewife succumbs to burn injuries

UDHAMPUR, July 11: A housewife succumbed to her burn injuries, which she had sustained under mysterious circumstances at the house of her in-law at village Kakrai in tehsil Majalta.
According to the police sources, the deceased namely Champa Devi, wife of Ranjeet of Kakrai, was undergoing treatment at GMC Hospital Jammu following burn injuries since June 23. She succumbed to her injuries today.
Majalta Police has initiated inquest proceedings and deputed an Investigating Officer to Jammu for conducting post mortem of the deceased.
Meanwhile, three persons were injured in separate road accidents in Udhampur district since last evening.
A Motorcycle bearing registration number JK14A-6308 skidded off the road at near Sangoor resulting into injuries to the biker, identified as Sandeep Singh (18), son of Ujagar Singh of Mand Udhampur.
Another motorcycle also skidded off the road near Sangoor. The injured biker, identified as Najzir Ahmed (50), son of Gulam Mohmed of Kawa Udhampur, was rushed to Udhampur hospital by the locals
In another road mishap, a pedestrian was hit by a Scooty JK14C-3420, at Sontha. The   injured, identified as Rahul Sharma (25), son of Ashok Kumar of Sontha, was shifted to hospital by the locals.
