Kannur, Nov 8:
Andhra ended the second day at 42 for no loss in reply to Kerala’s first innings score of 486 in the Ranji trophy Group-C matches at Thalassery.
After the century of Sanju V Samson, Kerala skipper Sachin Baby 62 and his 151 run fifth wicket stand with Robert Fernadez, who scored 88, and P Prasanth 68, helped hosts reach a mammoth total of 486/10 in 163 overs.
At close of the day, Andhra’s K S Bharat was batting with 22 and D B Prasanth at 10.
Kerala resuming at 236/4, Robert Fernadez added 49 runs and Captain Sachin baby added 60 runs, and both wickets are taken by S K M D Basa in successive overs.
At lunch the score was 343/4 and Sachin Baby was retired hurt due to the arm injury while the play was stop for lunch interval. Vinoop S M played with powerful shots along with Robert Fernadez, he took 27 runs in just 38 balls 4 fours and one six and out at the total score of 373 in 134.5 overs.
Then Sachin Baby came to the crease and out just added two runs. P Prasanth also scored a brilliant half century 68 and C P Shahid scored 37 runs at his home ground. For Andhra, P VIjayakumar, S A Gorrella and S K M D Basa took three wickets each. (PTI)
