Hospital employee dies in accident

UDHAMPUR, Sept 2: A woman was killed in a road accident near Kali Mata Mandir in the Rehambal area of Udhampur district today morning.

According to police, the accident took place at around 9:50 AM when a Grand Vitara bearing registration number JK14L-6789, allegedly being driven by Varun Sharma, son of Dwarka Parshad, resident of Channi Himmat, Jammu, was travelling from Jammu towards Udhampur.

The vehicle collided with a scooty bearing registration number JK14L-3557, being driven by Ambalika, wife of Ashwani Sharma, resident of village Jib, Udhampur, who was travelling in the same direction. She was returning from Narayana Hospital after finishing her duty.

Ambalika sustained serious injuries in the collision and was shifted to PHC Tikri for treatment. However, she later succumbed to her injuries.

Rehmbal police arrested the car driver and registered an FIR No. 218/2026 against him. Further investigation was underway.
