JAMMU, Jan 13: A bike rider was killed today after he was hit by a bus at Tali Morh in Miran Sahib area of city out skirts.
According to a police spokesperson, the man identified as Sunil Sharma son of Yashpal, a resident of Ward No 6, RS Pura, was going on his bike (bearing registration No JK02AB-0196) from RS Pura to Jammu when a bus (having registration No JK02AB-4229) coming from opposite side hit his bike at Tali Morh near petrol pump and left him critically injured.
The injured youth was immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu but he succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital and doctors at GMCH declared him as brought dead. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for post mortem and legal formalities.
The Miran Sahib police has registered a case in this case and seized the Bus involved in the accident while its driver managed to flee from the spot.
