JAMMU, Oct 23: J&K High Court Bar Association (HCBA) today expressed grave concern over the unprovoked firing and shelling by Pakistan rangers directly on civil population, resulting in their migration from the border areas.
A meeting of HCBA was held, which was presided over by its president MK Bhardwaj, who while speaking, appealed the Government to respond adequately and strongly to counter these reprehensible and criminal acts of the Pakistan rangers.
He also urged the Government to strengthen its security grid and initiate immediate steps to extend timely and adequate support to those who have migrated from the borders due to continuous firing and heavy shelling from across the border in fear of loss to their person and property.
Pakistani rangers are hell bent to create an atmosphere of war like situation on the LoC and IB by continuous ceasefire violation with an ulterior motive to pave way for the sneaking of terrorists waiting on the launching pads on their side and further intending to keep the pot of Kashmir issue boiling, he added.
He also criticized the incident of stone pelting in Kashmir valley in which one police personnel succumbed to injuries after being hit by stones thrown by the miscreants.
HCBA appealed all the political parties, organizations, members of the civil society and all the nation loving people to stand united, in order to safeguard the integrity, honour and pride of the nation and extend their helping hand to those who have been forced to desert their houses, cattle and fields with standing crops.
Later, a strong protest demonstration by the members of Association was also held. Amid slogans, the members of the association condemned the cowardice acts of Pakistan.
