SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir High Court today issued show cause notice to all major insurance companies operating in the State to show cause as to why the formula implemented in calamity hit areas like Uttarakand should not be applied in the State.
The Division Bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice M M Kumar and Justice A M Magrey today issued notices to the insurance companies to appear before the court in a Public Interest Litigation filed by the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry seeking issuance of interim relief for the flood affected in Kashmir.
To ensure immediate relief to the business community, the Bench also issued notices to the lawyers representing various insurance companies.
