Haveli team clinches Inter Tehsil Cricket League Tournament title

JAMMU, June 1: Haveli team registered win over Mandi team and clinched the title of the Inter Tehsil Cricket League Tournament, organized by Army at Jhullas.
Batting first after winning the toss, Haveli team made 122 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 15 overs, which the opponent Mandi team failed to chase and bundled out at 78 runs in 15 overs.
Amandeep Singh from Haveli Team was declared as the Man of the Match, while Sarfaraz Ahmed from Mandi Team was adjudged as Man of the Series.
On the occasion, a joint team comprising of 16 players was selected to represent Poonch district in the Inter District Tournament to be held later this year by the Army.
The closing ceremony was witnessed by Padamshri Shambhu Nath Khajuria, KK Kapoor, Retd CEO, Sarpanch, sports staff, students, Army officials and other prominent members of the Civil Administration.
In the tournament, four teams were selected from Haveli, Mandi, Surankote and Mendhar tehsils of Poonch District. The event was spread over seven days with each team contesting with the other to win the tournament.
