UDHAMPUR, Nov 19: The teachers have crucial role in transforming and making the society better place to live in as education is vital for overall development of an individual and strengthening the nation.
MLA, Ramnagar, Harshdev Singh said this after distributing appointment orders among the selected ReT teachers.
MLA Udhampur, Balwant Singh Mankotia and MLA, Reasi, Baldev Raj Sharma were also present on the occasion.
As many as 47 appointment orders of ReT teachers belonging to different educational zones of Ramnagar, Udhampur and Reasi districts were handed over in a function organized here today.
Harsh said that the main aim of Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) scheme is to strengthen the educational system in rural areas of the State by engaging educated youth. He said that the scheme is providing employment to the local youth.
Terming teachers as pillars of the nation, Harshdev Singh exhorted upon them to put in their best and dedicated efforts in providing quality education to the students especially students belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL) in rural and far flung areas who cannot get quality education due to financial constraints
Speaking on the occasion, Udhampur and Reasi MLAs said that the efforts are being made to accelerate the literacy rate by appointing educated youth as ReTs to improve education system. “It is now on the part of newly appointed ReTs to devote their whole efforts in imparting quality education to students of their areas to shape their future”, they stressed.
Chief Education Officer, Balbir Singh, District Education Planning Officer, Ved Parkash Sharma, Zonal Education Officers, teachers and people in large number were also present on the occasion.
