Habitual cannabis smuggler nabbed

BHADERWAH, Jan 19: Police arrested a habitual cannabis smuggler, here today.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Bhaderwah Police Station laid a naka at Chinar Mohallah on Eid Gah road and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 95 grams of cannabis from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Mohammad Rafiq, son of Abdul Gani Ganai, a resident of Sultanpura Nagar Bhaderwah.
A case under FIR Number 8/19 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bhaderwah and investigation started.
It is to mention here that earlier in the year 2011, a case under FIR Number 149/2011 under section 8/20/22 NDPS Act was also registered against the arrested persons which was challaned in the court of law.
Police team led by HC Yaqoob along with SOG personnel made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Bhaderwah Inspector Muneer Khan, SDPO Bhaderwah Aadil Reshu, Additional SP Bhaderwah Rajinder Singh and SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir Malik.
