JAMMU, Sept 29: Inter-Collegiate Championships in the discipline of Judo, Kabaddin and Volleyball, being organized by Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, were played here today.
In Inter-Collegiate Judo Championship for women, Government Women College Parade retained the title trophy with 11 points.
In 44 kg, Sumati Singh of GWC Parade and Hakima of GWC Gandhi Nagar clinched gold and silver medals respectively, whereas in 48 kg, Sanjana Manhas of GWC Parade, Kiran Devi of GWC Gandhi Nagar and Shivangi Jamwal of PG Department bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, in 52 kg, Yashika Jamwal of GWC Parade, Shallu Devi of GWC Gandhi Nagar, and Shurabhi Anthal of PG Department claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In 57 kg, Barkha of GWC Gandhi Nagar and Nishala of PG Department bagged gold and silver medals respectively, while the bronze medal was shared by Ishma Wazir of Bhargawa College and Anam Kapahi of GWC Parade.
In 63 kg, Mridul Sharma of GWC Parade and Mansi Bhat of GWC Parade clinched gold and silver medals respectively, whereas in 70 kg, Priya Sharma of GWC Parade and Renu Devi of GWC Gandhi Nagar bagged gold and silver medals respectively, in 78 kg, Zaffara Bano of GWC Gandhi Nagar and Mamta Devi of GWC Parade bagged gold and silver medals respectively and in above 78 kg, Sakshi Bhan of GWC Parade clinched gold medal.
The matches were officiated by Ritika Slathia, Suraj Bhan Singh, Vikas Dogra, Arshi Nad and Jai Bharat.
Meanwhile, in Inter-Collegiate Kabaddi Champio-nship for men, PG Department will take on GDC Kathua in the final tomorrow. Earlier in the first semis, GDC Paloura lost to PG Department by 5 points and in the second semifinal, GDC Kathua registered win over MAM College by 28 points.
The matches were officiated by Ajay Gupta, Kuldeep Singh, Vishal Jamwal, Rakesh Kumar, Ankush Gupta, Harpreet Singh, Keshav Singh, Amandeep Singh, Raki Sharma, Bhanu Priya and Gagan Kumar.
However, in Inter-Collegiate Volleyball Championship for Men, PG Department, GDC Udhampur, GDC Akhnoor and GDC Hiranagar crushed rivals and entered in the semifinal.
Earlier in the quarterfinals, PG Department beat GDC Rajouri by 2-0, GDC Udhampur smashed SPMR College of Commerce by 2-0, GDC Akhnoor crushed GDC Kathua by 2-0 and GDC Hiranagar beat YCET by 2-0.
The matches were witnessed by Sunil Kumar, Tanveer Ahmed, Ashok Kumar and Monika Megwan.
The officials of the matches were Amarjeet Singh, Amit Sharma, Mulkraj Khajuria, Manu Singh Pawar, Shivali Dogra, Bhavana Sharma and Vikas Karlopia.
The Championships were being organized under the supervision of Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
