JAMMU : Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra today chaired the first Unified Headquarters meeting in his rule at the Civil Secretariat here.
The top brass of all security and intelligence agencies attended the meeting and briefed the Governor about the prevailing situation in the state.
“The meeting started at 1030 hrs and lasted for around two hours,” official sources here said.
They said all the top ranked officers from the State Police, Army, Para-military Forces and intelligence agencies took part in the meeting and gave a detailed review of the prevailing security besides the border situation to the Governor. “Special focus was laid on the security related issues in Jammu and Kashmir with special focus on border firing and issues of the border people, who migrated in view of shelling and Pakistan firing to safer places,” sources added. They said the security scenario ahead of US President Barack Obama’s India visit in the wake of suspected terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir were also discussed threadbare. Sources said the Governor has asked all the security and intelligence agencies to work in coordination and ensure peace and harmony in the state.
