Guv asks Admn Secys to hear grievances

SRINAGAR, May 8: Governor Satya Pal Malik has directed all the Administrative Secretaries to remain accessible for public hearing and also undertake field visits for monitoring Government projects.
The Governor has directed that all the Administrative Secretaries shall undertake field visits on weekly basis to review the important State and Centrally Sponsored Schemes, developmental works and other related matters of their departments.
The Administrative Secretaries shall submit a status report to the Chief Secretary inter alia highlighting the issues, which require intervention for timely completion of the projects, says a Government circular, issued in this regard.
According to another Government circular, the Governor has directed the Administrative Secretaries to earmark two hours on daily basis from 1 pm to hear the public grievances and not fix any engagement or meeting during the said period.
Meanwhile, Iftikhar Rasool Hamdani, Under Secretary, General Administration Department, has been designated as Nodal Officer for monitoring daily attendance of the Government employees in the Civil Secretariat.
The Nodal Officer shall submit a daily attendance report to the office of the Chief Secretary by 11 a.m.
