JAMMU, Feb 16: Senior BJP leader and JMC Councillor, Gurmeet Kour Randhawa of Ward 69 here today started deep drain work in Sector-G area of Sainik Colony.
Speaking on the occasion Randhawa assured the people of her Ward that works of development in Sainik Colony are also taken up with various authorities. “Works of drains and culverts worth Rs. 35 lakh and street lights on either side of the road along Nallah are in progress while the work on cycling track worth Rs. 44 lakh will commence soon and macadamization work of Rs. 75 lakh is in pipeline,” she maintained.
The Councillor also said that proposal worth Rs. 50 crore has also been projected for the embankment of Nallah under AMRUT by UEED and the resulting land created after embankment on either side of Nallah will be utilised for creating walking plaza with all modern facilities for walkers.
Randhawa appealed to the people of her Ward to stop dumping garbage in Nallah and use the services of garbage collection autos of JMC.
Capt. Suresh Bhatti, Rana Randeep Singh, Jagjit Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Bakshi, Prem Singh Jamwal, Aditya Jamwal, R.K Verma, Bunty Slathia, Satpal Choudhary and others were also present on the occasion.
