Grant special leave to package employees on Shivratri: VKS

JAMMU, Feb 9: Vishaw Kashmiri Samaj (VKS) in its meeting here, today held under the chairmanship of Kiran Wattal its convener and Pinto Ji general secretary today demanded that the KP employees working under PM package in Valley be granted special leave for one week on the occasion of Maha Shivratri so that they can celebrate the holy festival with their families in Jammu.
It said grant of special leave on the occasion of holy festival falling on February 28 this year will be in the larger interest of the community as Maha Shivratri is one of the holiest and sacred festivals being celebrated by Kashmiri Pandits all over the globe.
It has expressed concern over delay in issuance of appointment orders to the displaced youth in various departments under PM employment package.
The meeting said that though the written tests for the posts were taken over six months back and in some departments like Excise the appointment orders were since issued and employees are performing their duties for the last two months, however to the discomfiture of these hapless candidates orders for the posts of Assistant Compilers and class fourth posts have still not been issued till date.
They made an appeal to the concerned authorities urging them to issue the appointment orders for these candidates without further delay.
