Grand Janmashtami Shobha Yatra to be taken out in Jammu tomorrow

JAMMU, Sept 1: On the eve of auspicious occasion of Shree Krishna Janmashtami, a grand Shobha Yatra will be taken out in Jammu city on September 3 (Thursday).

In connection with the preparations for the event, a joint press conference was organised today by Shree Sanatan Dharma Sabha, Dharmarth Trust, Dharmik Yuva Mandal and representatives of various social and religious organisations.

Addressing the media persons, President of Sanatan Dharma Sabha Jammu & Kashmir, Parshotam Dadhichi said that the traditional Shree Krishna Janmashtami Shobha Yatra would commence after performing special prayers and religious rituals at Geeta Bhawan, following which the procession would proceed from the historic Shri Raghunath Ji Temple complex.

The grand chariot of Lord Shri Krishna will lead followed by beautifully decorated and message oriented tableaux prepared by various social, religious and community organisations. The tableaux will pass through different parts of the city as part of the grand procession.

Dadhichi further informed that a special felicitation ceremony will be organised within 10 to 15 days of the main event, where the tableaux securing the first, second and third positions will be honoured. All participating organisations will also be felicitated for their contribution to the grand celebration.

The organisers also appealed to the local administration to make necessary arrangements along the route of the Shobha Yatra, particularly with regard to cleanliness, smooth traffic management, proper repair of roads and ensuring the safety of electrical wires, so that devotees, participants and the general public do not face any inconvenience during the procession.

Shree Sanatan Dharma Sabha and the organisations associated with the event appealed to trade bodies, workers and supporters of all political parties, various community organisations, social and religious institutions and the general public to participate in the grand Shobha Yatra with their families.

The press conference was attended by Secretary of Dharmarth Trust and retired SSP, Ashok Sharma; Working President of Sanatan Dharma Sabha, Prabhat Singh Jamwal, Treasurer Anil Magotra, along with other office-bearers and members. Dalip Gupta, Keshav Chopra and several other members were also present on the occasion.
