
Palatial farm house, ultra modern Hot Mixing Plant dismantled

SAMBA, Aug 22: District administration Samba today removed encroachment from over 100 kanals of Government and private land made by one of the senior politicians and former Minister in Birpur area of Bari Brahmana in district Samba.
According to official sources, on the receipt of a complaint from a widow namely, Rano Devi before the district administration that her land has been encroached by an influential political leader of the area who happens to be a former Minister at Birpur who is also the owner of the Triple S Hotmix Plant by thrashing her son and late husband and encroached their land by constructing an ultra modern Hot Mixing Plant and other structures over it.
Official sources said that besides the land belonging to the poor widow the State land and forest land measuring over 100 kanals was grabbed by the local politician who in addition to constructing an ultra modern Hot Mixing Plant had also constructed a palatial form house on it.
The authorities today launched an encroachment drive in the area and dismantled the form house having a modern bar and air-conditioned rooms and other facilities as well as the ultra modern hot mixing plant constructed on the encroached land.
The administration has also registered an FIR in this regard on the basis of a complaint made by the widow against the politician, sources said, adding the district police has also assured to provide police protection to the poor lady who alleged threat to her life from the encroacher who happens to be a very influential person.
Sources said the local politician also visited the demolition site during the drive and left in a huff after seeing that the administration had removed the encroachment made by him on the Government and private land.
The drive was launched under the supervision of District Development Commissioner, Samba, Rohit Khajuria who was accompanied by SSP Samba, Shakti Pathak, Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Jitender Mishra, Tehsildar Bari Brahmana, Qaisar Malik and SHO Bari Brahmana, Arjun Singh. Heavy deployment of police was also made during the drive by the administration to avert any untoward incident, sources added.
The administration put into service a JCB machine to dismantle the Hot Mixing Plant, farm house, shops and other buildings and compound walls constructed on the land.
Giving details Deputy Commissioner, Samba Rohit Khajuria said that on the basis complaint filed in his office that there were reports of forceful land grabbing instances in the Birpur area of Bari Brahmana wherein over a State land Hotmix Plant, a farm house and shops were constructed for past few years.
He said today after detailed verification from revenue records it was ascertained that illegal possession of the land was carried out at the behest of some influential leaders. “Having Zero tolerance approach towards the land grabbing instances in the district, today’s anti-encroachment was carried out and more than 100 kanals of land stands retrieved on khasra no. 1099 and 1110” added DC samba.
The local community of the area has expressed gratification toward the action of district administration and their role in providing justice to the poor people. He said the property was worth 25 crore approximately.
DC Samba said that administration has tightened its noose against the land grabbers in the district and no body how influential he may be will be spared. He urged the people who had still Government land in their possession to leave the encroachment on their own failing which the authorities will be forced to legal action against them.
